Liberia- Technical assistance and capacity building to Liberia institutes of statistics and geo-information (LISGIS)
The project aims is to enhance the institutional capacity of Liberia Institute of Statistics & Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) as a prime, authoritative agency of Government to establish, develop and maintain a holistic integrated national statistical spatial database and systems as well as monitor and conduct supervision to allow for provision of gender and geographical sensitive analysis of statistical information for overall national socio-economic reconstruction and development. It will result in: timely production of quality data and its dissemination for effective use in evidence-based policy planning, monitoring and evaluation. These data will also be used to monitor and evaluate developmental effectiveness of Liberia's national development strategy, the Agenda for Transformation 2012-2017 and the Bank's Country Strategy Paper 2013-2017 for Liberia. The Project consists of mainly three interrelated components, namely; (i) Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building; (ii) HIES Data Analysis and Reporting; and (iii) HIES Data Dissemination and Effective Use.
The main objectives of the project are to strengthen the institutional and staff capacity of Liberia Institute of Statistics & Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) ; and conduct, publish and disseminate the Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES), and other related surveys such as; National Accounts Survey, the Core Welfare Indicators Questionnaire (CWIQ) survey and Liberia Demographic and Health Survey (LDHS)
The project direct beneficiaries include the Liberian Government, the Liberia Institute of Statistics & Geo-Information Services (LISGIS)
