Strengthening Tuberculosis Control and Management of People with TB/HIV Co-infection

TB is a major health burden in Liberia. The overall goal of the program supported by this grant is to reduce the national burden of TB in Liberia. To achieve its goal, the program will be increasing access to high quality DOTS by establishing additional microscopy centers in existing public sector laboratories, two prisons and DOTS centers in the private sector; establishing effective TB and HIV collaborating mechanisms; and empowering the community and people living with TB by increased and sustained advocacy, communication and social mobilization activities in all 15 counties. The program targets the general population ages 15-54, prisoners, underserved communities and people living with HIV and AIDS.
