UNDP BCPR Activities in Liberia and Burundi
The United Nations Development Programme's (UNDP) Bureau of Crisis Prevention and Recovery helps countries prevent armed conflict, alleviate the risk and effects of disasters from natural hazards and build back better and stronger when crises happen. Funding under this initiative represents Australia's contributions to UNDP's Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery's activities: strategic reconstruction and development of the justice and security institutions in Liberia; and the consolidation of peace, stability and security through delivery of livelihood and local economic recovery activities in Burundi. The total value of this initiative is $1.5 million to be expensed during the 2010-11 financial year.
