Food Aid in Liberia - WFP 2007

Liberia continues to recover from almost two decades of conflict, which have devastated the infrastructure and economy, caused massive population displacements and the collapse of basic social services. Pervasive poverty, malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies continue to be widespread. CIDA's contribution is used to help the World Food Programme (WFP) to support the efforts of the Government of Liberia to achieve sustainable food security, attain universal primary education, and help strengthen institutional capacity and infrastructure development. The operation is expected to reach an estimated 767,000 beneficiaries.
