Liberian Youth Peace Building National Conference
Accountability Lab Liberia has applied to Sida for funding of 950 417 SEK to carry out the “Liberian Youth Peace Building NationalConference” in Monrovia, Liberia in April 2017. The contribution is to support eight months of youth pre-conference, conference and post-conference related activities. The intervention by Accountability Lab Liberia seeks to strengthen peace in Liberia by bringing together about 200 young Liberians who are active citizens and engage them in a process of building the social fabric that is essential to a peaceful future. The proposed Liberian Youth Peace-Building National Conference aims at harnessing the potential of Liberia’s young people through series of pre and post conference activities that will lead to a network of engaged, empowered and energetic young people from across Liberia who can work together to transform their communities and build peace over time.
The development intervention intended outcome was to create a network of about 200 Liberian youth from all 15 counties that remained engaged, empowered and energetic to contribute to Liberia's peace and stability.
