People, Rules and Organizations Supporting Protection of Ecosystem Resources (PROSPER)
(Liberia): Peoples, Rules and Organizations Supporting the Protection of Ecosystem Resources (PROSPER) will use FY 2016 funds to continue expanding educational and institutional capacity to improve environmental awareness, natural resource and community-based forest management, and livelihoods derived from sustainable forest- and agriculture-based enterprises in Liberia. PROSPER will work with forest communities, women, youth and government and non-government stakeholders in Nimba and Grand Bassa Counties to strengthen community-based natural resource management, increase incomes derived from sustainable resource use, and reduce pressure on forest destruction. This will reduce threats to biodiversity in target areas and contribute to improved forest governance to address climate related risks including piloting adaptation methods and systems.
