Smallholder Oil palm Project Support (SHOPS) II
(Liberia): .The SHOPS II activity will link economic incentives to environmentally sustainable practices, sound natural resource management and the protection of biodiversity in integrated agricultural landscapes through technical assistance to smallholder farmers and support to oil palm sector policy development at the national level. FY 2016 funds will scale up training and field demonstrations on best natural resource management practices, expand production and distribution of improved high-quality hybrid seeds, and support the manufacture of oil palm processing equipment. Additional processing activities such as filtering, packaging and branding crude palm oil and downstream products such as palm kernel oil and palm kernel cake will improve their competitiveness in regional and international markets. ...
