Sustainable High Impact Infrastructure for Education & Agriculture (SHINE)

The overall goal of SHINE is to provide infrastructural support towards the achievement of the missions development objectives through 1) More effective, Accountable and Inclusive Government; 2) Sustained Market-Driven Economic to Reduce Poverty; 3) Improve Health Status of Liberians and Better Educated Liberians. Activities under this objective will be implemented in USAID target counties of Bong, Nimba, Lofa, Bomi, Margibi, Montserado and Grand Bassa of Liberia.

Improve early childhood education, primary education, and secondary education, delivered in formal or non-formal settings. It includes literacy, numeracy, and other basic skills programs for youth and adults. Provide technical assistance and training to strengthen sub-national government functions, including development of budgets, local revenue raising, provision of local public services, community planning, participation, and implementation of laws, regulations, policies, and programs. Develop and/or strengthen associations of local governments and/or local government officials.
