Kabale-Kisoro-Bunagana Road Study

This operation will enable the Ugandan government (GOU) to update the existing studies and designs and to produce a comprehensive and high quality pre-project documentation for the financing and implementation of Kabale-Kisoro-Bunagana Road Upgrading Project. The activities proposed for financing under the PPF will contribute to ensuring a technically sound, financially viable and environmentally safe and socially desirable Kabale-Kisoro-Bunagana Road Upgrading Project in Uganda. The specific outputs from the PPF financed activities are: (i) Updated cost budget together with the economic analysis of the proposed project; (ii) Revised detailed engineering designs; (iii) Revised Tender documents; and (iv) Revised Environmental and Social Impact Assessment reports, and resettlement and compensation plan.

The objectives of the project are to reduce road maintenance and vehicle operating costs between Kabale and Kisoro districts. This preparatory phasis aims to facilitate the appraisal of the Kabale-Kisoro-Bunagana Road Upgrading Project in Uganda.

The main beneficiary of the project is the Ugandan government.
