Africa Regional Small Activities Scheme 2009-10
The Africa Regional Small Activities Scheme (ARSAS) is a small grants program that provides support for community-based activities being implemented by non-government organisations to promote sustainable economic and social development. The objectives of ARSAS are to: help meet the basic humanitarian needs of disadvantaged communities in target countries; complement other activities running as part of the wider development assistance program to Africa; and promote Australia's role as a development partner in Africa. The total value of this multi-country initiative is $3.5 million expensed during the 2009-10 financial year.
