SPRINT Africa and Asia Pacific
The Sexual and Reproductive Health Program in Crisis and Post Crisis Situations in East, Southeast Asia and the Pacific (SPRINT) aims to increase access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for populations surviving crises and living in post-crises situations in the Asia-Pacific region. Neglecting Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) in crises situations has serious consequences such as maternal and newborn deaths, sexual violence, sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies and the increased spread of HIV. Funding under this initiative supports training of humanitarian and health workers and the integration of SHR into national emergency preparedness plans. The total value of this initiative is $1.5 million over 2 years, starting 2009-10.
