Uganda Landslide Response 2010
Severe flooding and landslides has resulted in approximately 300,000 people in Uganda being adversely affected as well as significant damage to schools and water/sanitation infrastructure. Funding under this initiative represents Australia's contribution to respond to immediate and medium-term needs of children and women affected by the floods and landslides. Assistance will include the provision of health and nutrition supplies, clean water, hygiene and sanitation education, basic education kits, temporary learning centres, emergency non-food items such as blankets, shelter and storage space, psychosocial support to children and child protection. The total value of this initiative is $0.2 million to be expensed during the 2009-10 financial year.
