UN Mine Action Appeal 2012
The UN Mine Action Appeal seeks funding against an annually prepared portfolio of vital mine action activities. Appeal funding is provided through the Voluntary Trust Fund for Assistance in Mine Action managed by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS). The UNMAS Voluntary Trust Fund for Assistance in Mine Action provides resources for mine-action programs and projects, including surveys, mine-clearance, mine risk education, victim assistance and advocacy activities, including in situations where other funding is not immediately available. The total value of this initiative is $1.0 million expensed during the 2011-12 financial year.
