Promoting Rights of Persons with Disabilities

The United Nations Partnership to Promote the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD) Multi Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) was established in 2011 to develop the capacities of national stakeholders, particularly governments and organisations of persons with disabilities, for the effective implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), including through promoting disability-inclusive internationally agreed development goals. Funding will support UN country teams that: have demonstrated evidence in their proposals of national commitment to advancing the rights of people with disability; or have existing draft action plans to advance opportunities for people with disability with a lack of resources or capacity to take these policies forward. The total value of this investment is $1.75 million over 2 years, starting 2013-14.
