Support for South Sudanese Refugees and Host Communities in Uganda

The Programme concerns the support of the intensive efforts of the Ugandan government to address the needs of the refugees and host communities. For this purpose, a Refugee Response Fund (RRF) is set up to allow for a transparent and efficient selection, financing and monitoring process for projects in the refugee context. The Office of the Prime Minister is responsible for the implementation of the RRF. Under the RRF, two fast-track projects are implemented targeting both refugees and host communities: 1. The first project shall improve the drinking water and sanitation situation in Rhino camp, implemented by Oxfam. 2. The second project shall improve the education situation in Bidibidi Settlement, implemented by Save the Children (Oxfam and Save the Children together hereinafter referred to as the "NGOs"). The purpose of the Programme is that the RRF finances and monitors the fast-track projects and that the created infrastructure is utilized by the population/target group. This is to contribute to securing basic needs as well as to the social and economic development of refugees and people in host communities.
