Expert advice QUISP extension 2015-2016

Sweden has supported the development of Uganda's quality infrastructure within the framework of the "Quality Infrastructure and Standards Programme", QUISP. The aim is that institutions, regulations and the legal framework that are part of the quality infrastructure (standardization, accreditation, certification and metrology) is in accordance with international requirements and regulations. A well-functioning quality infrastructure promotes Uganda's regional and international trade and improves local consumer protection. The agreement regarding QUISP covered the period 2010 - 2014 but implementation has been delayed caused by restrictions in payments of Swedish funds. The agreement will now be extended at no-cost to honor the committment made by Sweden and to secure delivery of expected and sustainable results. The purpose of the consulting services is to provide technical advice to the Ministry of Trade and the Embassy in the extension in order to ensure that reusults of the program can be reached.
