Communication for Healthy Communities ( CHC)
(Uganda): .This activity will provide health communication support across USAID/Uganda's health and HIV portfolios. With FY 2017 funds, the activity will focus on communications interventions to increase the use of family planning (FP), including long acting/permanent methods targeting youth and low parity women; improved nutrition behaviors and practices, especially in the first 1000 days of an infant's birth; increased recognition of danger signs during pregnancy, and early and prompt health- seeking behavior at the facilities for maternal, newborn, and childhood illnesses; increased prompt treatment of malaria in children; and increased tuberculosis treatment completion. USAID expects the activity to contribute to the following results: improved knowledge and uptake of FP methods; improved attitudes about smaller family size; and increased percentage of births attended by skilled manpower..
