Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY)
Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth in Central and Western Uganda is implementing a household-based response to empower vulnerable children, youths and their caregivers to reduce their vulnerability and improve their wellbeing. The project is implemented in the Southwestern districts of Bushenyi, Rukungiri, Kiruhura, Kabale and Isingiro. The project targets to reach a total of 150453 direct beneficiaries (including vulnerable children and their caregivers) from 24654 households in a period of 3 years. The program activities involving at least 2268 Community volunteers (i.e. Para-social workers, VHTs and Para-legal workers) is implemented at sub-county level covering a total of 83 sub-counties. The project goal is to create an integrated and coordinated service delivery system that will ensure access to essential health, nutrition and social services by OVC, youth and their caregivers resulting in better outcomes and reduced HIV/AIDS vulnerability in the target districts.
