Feed the Future (FTF) Agricultural Inputs Activity
(Uganda): The Agricultural Inputs Activity will increase the responsible use of high-quality agriculture inputs through improving private sector supply chain management, decreasing the prevalence of counterfeit products, and raising awareness of the benefits of quality inputs use through advanced marketing and sales techniques in rural Uganda. Activities include: (1) strengthening relationships between actors in the inputs supply chain; (2) assisting suppliers and retailers with inventory management; (3) marketing, and sales force promotion; (4) increasing the use of verified products and tamper proof packaging; (5) improving the technical capacity of input retailers; (6) improving the capacity of domestic inputs industry associations, and (7) scaling up production and dissemination of improved varieties of maize and beans. The activity will also support climate change adaptation through dissemination of improved agronomic practices and technologies that will help farmers build resilience to the adverse effects of climate change.
