Ebola Response Support – Health Workers Salaries Payment
(Liberia): This activity will provide short term emergency financing for salaries for key civil servant health workers of the Government of Liberia who are paid a Liberian Dollar salary by direct bank transfer. Paying civil servant salaries for health care workers on Government of Liberia (GOL) payroll will enable the GOL to create some fiscal space to ease burdens in other areas of the Ebola response. The GOL will use its normal payroll procedures to pay the salaries of MoH civil servants, including those paid by direct bank transfer. The GOL will then present USAID with documentation sufficient to validate payment to the civil servants receiving direct bank transfer. USAID will then reimburse approved costs to the Ministry of Finance. A minimum of 3,710 health care civil servants will receive their regular monthly salary, and continue to work full time in accordance with their employment agreement, for the duration of the grant.
