Revenue Generation for Governance and Growth (RG3)

(Liberia): The Revenue Generation for Governance and Growth (RG3) Activity, through tax policy and administrative reform, will support the Liberia Revenue Authority to reduce the cost of tax compliance; increase tax revenues; improve revenue forecasting; and increase taxpayer compliance. Objectives will be achieved through promoting principles of voluntary compliance, self-assessment, transparency, risk-based management, as well as regulatory and legislative reform. Examples of such interventions include: joint development of risk-based audit selection indicators to ensure that only potential tax evaders are increasingly targeted for audit, and audits result in increased and better quality assessments; introduction of mobile tax payments, to ensure that paying taxes is easy and processing and reconciliation are automated rather than manual; introduction of e-filing, to ensure that filing tax returns is easy and the quality of LRA databases is improved.
