Liberia Municipal Water Project (LMWP II)
(Liberia): LMWP II continues the work of LMWP (which ended in 2016) and supports construction oversight for USAID's Capital Improvement Project focused on establishing new municipal water systems for the towns of Robertsport, Sanniquellie, and Voinjama. This mechanism will also work with the Liberia Water & Sewer Corporation (LWSC) and other GoL and local authorities to operationalize an institutional and governance framework to ensure sustainable management of water supply in the three towns with local and community-level buy-in. This will be accomplished through building the capacity of the LWSC to provide management and oversight functions to the news systems, as the utilities come online and managed by private water operators, and strengthen cost recovery mechanisms. With FY 2017 funding, this activity will support sustainable access of water for more than 30,000 people.
