Sveriges stöd till Diakonia initerades av ambassaden. Tanken var att nå civisamhället genom en svensk organisation med god kapacitet och kompetens inom demokrati och mänskliga rättigheter (MR). Fokus i Uganda är främjande av MR, demokrati, jämställdhet, social och ekonomisk rättvisa samt konflikthantering. Det treåriga stödet är på 30 MSEK.
The Swedish support to Diakonia was an initiative of the Embassy to support CSOs in Uganda through Swedish Organisations with strong competences and capacity in the area of Democracy and Human rights promotion. Diakonias focus in Uganda is Promotion of Human Rights and Democracy, Gender Equity, Social Economic Justice & Conflict management. The 3 year Swedish support is 30 MSEK
