Utfasningen av LUMUST-projektet syftar till att försäkra uthålligheten på längre sikt vad gäller Mbarara universitets kapacitet att fortsätta driva program för att förbättra hälsan för befolkningen i västra Uganda. Medel används till forskningsutbyte, MPH-programmet, läromedelsutveckling etc.
he LUMUST phase out objective is to ensure overall sustainability of the institutional capacity of Mbarara University in regard to its role to contribute to the health status of the population in western Uganda. Funds will support research collaboration, MPH program,curriculum development, capacity development, peer project and HIV/AIDS policy with their integration within Mbarara university
