Northern Uganda Health Integration to Enhance Services - (NUHITES
(Uganda): NUHITES implements an integrated health program in 15 districts in northern Uganda at facility and community levels. This activity will be supported by $6,184,000 in Global Health Program ($800,000 in TB, $1,084,000 in Malaria, $2,700,000 in MCH, $1,000,000 in Family Planning and Reproductive Health and $600,000 in Nutrition), as well as PEPFAR funds. The project goal is improved and sustained health and nutrition status of the northern Uganda population through: district-based system strengthening and integrated services for HIV/AIDS; TB; malaria; maternal, newborn and child health; reproductive health and family planning; and nutrition. The expected outcome for the NUHITES project at the end of the five years is to contribute to the reduction of health mortality and morbidity and further prevent occurrences of infectious diseases in the target area.
