Governance Accountability Performance and Participation - (GAPP)
(Uganda): .The Governance, Accountability, Participation, and Performance (GAPP) activity is jointly funded by USAID and UKAID. It aims at improving local governance, strengthening national accountability institutions and supporting citizen participation. By fostering engagement between district officials, national-level decision makers and citizens, it supports improved accountability, participation and performance. FY 2017 funds will support civil society and private sector to involve youth in advocacy for public policy and service delivery in health and agriculture. Funds will also support a parliamentary forum to rally Members of Parliament around improving health service delivery with attention to the shrinking health budget allocations and public health care services. Working with entities such as women-owned and youth agri-businesses, it will help improve agriculture extension services through effective engagement of private sector in local governance processes. ...
