Youth Leadership for Agriculture Activity
(Uganda): .The activity increases economic opportunities for Ugandan female and male youth, ages 10 to 35, in agriculture-related fields to increase incomes and build entrepreneurship, leadership and workforce readiness. The activity aims to: 1) increase incomes of youth working in agricultural value chains and 2) improve skills development through formal and non-formal education and training organizations. The activity also seeks to increase the provision of quality technical, workforce readiness and entrepreneurial skills; increase opportunities for youth to demonstrate leadership and community engagement; and improve the provision of life skills for healthy living (including family planning and reproductive health information). By assisting the private sector to engage youth in new employment opportunities, the activity directly contributes to decreasing truancy and delinquency among Uganda's youth, and supports the broader stability of the country and region. ...
